Protect Your Family from Lead in Your Home

Are you planning to buy, rent, or renovate a house built before 1978?  Be aware that prior to 1978 builders used paint that contained lead; called lead-based paint.  Lead from paint, chips, and paint dust can cause severe health risks if not removed from the home with professional care.
LANDLORDS - It is your responsibility to disclose known information concerning lead-based paint and lead-based paint hazards before leases are signed.  Your lease paper work must contain a disclosure form about lead-based paint.

SELLERS - You have to disclose known information on lead-based paint and lead-based paint hazards before selling a house.  The official name of this form is: Addendum for Seller’s Disclosure of Information on Lead-Based Paint and Lead-Based Paint Hazards as Required by Federal Law (Form OP-L  01A). Buyer’s have up to ten (10) days to check for lead hazards.
RENOVATORS
Have to give you this pamphlet before starting work.  (After June 1, 1999)
